The Lighthouse Family are back with their first new music in nearly two decades!
One of the most popular bands of the 1990s have announced their first new album in 18 years, Blue Sky in Your Head, to be released on May 3 via Polydor.
The album will also include the Essentials collection to mark their 25th anniversary, including remastered versions of all their classic songs such as 'Lifted' and 'Ocean Drive'.
The duo stopped by the Smooth North East station to speak to Steve Colman, listen to it in full below:
Tunde Baiyewu and Paul Tucker will support the album with a UK tour later this year, finishing at the London Palladium on November 22.
“Somehow we couldn’t knock it together in the studio,” Paul said. “So we decided to go and do some shows, to remind ourselves who we are and what we do.
"As one of the Duran Duran guys said to me: ‘What do you want to go in the studio for? That’s where all the arguments happen! Go and do some gigs...’ So, that’s what we did, and it was great.”
“What happens when Tunde and I get in the studio is, we just drift off –we don’t ever row!” he added. “There’s no shouting or throwing things. In fact we only ever had one argument - but it lasted 20 years!"
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on March 29 at 9am.
