Angie Greaves has the best music from 4 to 7pm every weekday in The Smooth Drive Home, and on Sundays at 10am to 1pm.
About me:
I took like a duck to water when I first went into a radio studio, something just came alive. I just had to explore the mechanism of radio, what made it work on both sides of the mic. My first presenting job was in Barbados, my brother told a local station there that I worked in London but didn't mention that I wasn't on air, so I thought if you're gonna mess up what a place to do it! I can't wait to get stuck in the Smooth Drive Home, then coming home to my family including my cat Mylo.
My five favourite songs:
- Marvin Gaye - 'Let’s Get It On'
- Aretha Franklin - 'Angel'
- Elton John - 'Your Song'
- Smokey Robinson - 'Being With You'
- Gladys Knight - 'You’re The Best Thing That Ever Happened'
First record I bought:
The Jacksons - 'Show You The Way To Go' was the first single I ever bought. It was a 7” single, I can remember it clearly as if it was yesterday but it was 19! The first album I ever bought with my own money was the George Benson Collection.
My personal hero:
Let's go with... Michelle Obama. She just smiled and held her head high throughout both terms as First Lady when there were enough opportunities for her to show her 'sistah side'. It’s a lesson to all of us, humility and grace wins the order of the day.
