James Taylor alluded to a musical return from the legendary singer, who was hospitalised following a brain aneurysm in 2015.
James Taylor has hinted that Joni Mitchell is returning to music in a recent interview.
Speaking to The Guardian, Taylor opened up about his relationship with former collaborator and friend Mitchell, revealing that the pair recently reconnected and alluded to a musical return from the folk singer.
"Yes, I think she’s coming back musically ... It’s amazing to see her come back to the surface," he confirmed.
"But she’s recovering, she’s coming back – which is an amazing thing to be able to do – and I wonder what she has to tell us about that," Taylor added.
Mitchell was hospitalised in 2015 following a brain aneurysm, after friends found the star unconscious in her home.
According to friends, Joni was unable to speak for some time after the illness.
But later that year, it was reported that the condition of the music star had improved, and that Joni was walking, talking, painting and doing rehab every day.

Taylor also touched on his relationship with the musician, adding: "We’ve continued to have a friendship and, well, I recently sort of re-engaged with Joni, and that’s been wonderful.
"She came to a show of mine recently, at the Hollywood Bowl, which was an unusual thing for her to do."
