Would you believe it, but The Lion King has been a Broadway musical for 20 years now.
And during last night's curtain call, songwriter Sir Elton John made a surprise appearance at New York's Minskoff Theatre to give an emotional performance of 'Circle of Life' with the cast.
As a musical, The Lion King went on to win six Tony Awards since opening in 1997, and has also been a huge success at London's West End. It is also the highest-grossing musical of all time.
'Circle of Life' is one of five songs Elton wrote with Tim Rice for the original Disney movie. Rice was also in attendance at the 20th anniversary show.
Meanwhile, The Lion King is being remade as a CGI movie, with Beyoncé and Seth Rogen among the cast.
