Former teen heartthrob David Cassidy is ill in hospital, after suffering multiple organ failures earlier this week.
The 67-year-old Partridge Family actor and singer is reported to be conscious, after he was admitted to hospital in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday.
He is thought to have been suffering from kidney failure and needs a liver transplant.
Earlier this year, Cassidy said that he had dementia and would have to stop touring in order to "enjoy life".
His spokesperson told the Press Association that he was conscious, after reports he had been put into a coma. She added he was surrounded by family.
David Cassidy first rose to fame after playing Keith in 1970s sitcom The Partridge Family. The show led to various hit singles including his track 'I Think I Love You'.
He then went on to become a hugely successful solo artist and pop idol. However, in recent years, he has spoken about his issues with alcohol.
In 2015, he filed for bankruptcy, and was arrested three times between 2010 and 2014 for drunk driving.
