We might have to wait a little longer to hear brand new ABBA songs.
The upcoming ABBA special that will allow fans to hear new music for the first time in decades may be delayed until 2019.
Provisionally titled Thank You For The Music, the programme was due to air over the Christmas period, and would reportedly feature avatars of the group – or ABBAtars – performing a new song called 'I Still Have Faith In You'.
However, this song and a second called 'Don’t Shut Me Down' is apparently not ready for broadcast, according to the Daily Star.
ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus is quoted as saying: “It was planned for the end of this year.
“But I think we are talking about the beginning of next year now.
“I am very proud of both songs. One is like a pop song from the 1970s. The other one is kind of timeless.”
Smooth Radio has reached out to ABBA's representatives for a comment.
ABBA have recorded new music for the first time in 35 years, with a world tour of their ABBAtars expected next year.
