Strictly Come Dancing is back once again for another thrilling series in 2019. But who is celebrity contestant David James?

Who is David James?

David is a former goalkeeper who started off at Watford FC, before hitting the Premier League for Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham United, Manchester City and Portsmouth.
He soon became first choice for the England squad, playing in the UEFA Euro 2004 and 2010 World Cup and amassing 53 caps for his country.
The Strictly contestant was awarded an MBE in 2012 for his services to football and charity. Just a year later he hung up his football boots for good, finishing his career at Icelandic club IBV.
