The professional dancer praised her celebrity partner for his time on the series.
Strictly Come Dancing viewers were shocked yesterday (November 12), when Danny John-Jules didn't turn up for his scheduled TV interview with professional partner Amy Dowden, to discuss their exit from the show on It Takes Two.
The couple were eliminated on Sunday after losing the dance-off, two days after they appeared on TV with Amy insisting that she "never felt threatened or bullied by Danny", following reports of a bust-up in rehearsals.
Danny and Amy were supposed to appear together for an interview on It Takes Two, but host Zoe Ball revealed that the actor had "decided" not to appear.
His partner Amy fought back tears as she admitted to Zoe: "I promised myself I wasn't going to cry."
Amy sent her love and support to Danny, saying: "I'm so proud of Danny. Watching his journey, he is such a talented performer. I know and believe he belongs on this stage. I am so proud.
"The performances, Danny, you belonged there and I hope to see you on stage performing really soon."
Before last weekend's show, Danny's wife Petula Langlais had accused the BBC of "throwing him under that bus" over reports of a feud with Amy.
Strictly continues this weekend, where the show returns to Blackpool.
