Princess Charlotte looks happy for her first day at school in adorable photos

Princess Charlotte posed for some cute photos for her mum before heading off for her first day at nursery today.

Wearing a pink scarf, red coat and matching shoes, along with a pink backpack, Prince William and Kate Middleton's daughter looked bright and cheerful this morning before her first day at school.

The two-year-old and fourth in line to the throne was photographed at Kensington Palace this morning (January 8) before travelling to Willcocks Nursery School.

A royal spokesperson said: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning.

"The images were taken by The Duchess shortly before Princess Charlotte left for her first day of nursery at the Willcocks Nursery School."

In case you're wondering, her coat is a £120 burgundy Razorbil coat from Amaia, a favourite brand of the Cambridges.

Charlotte's brother, Prince George, started attending Thomas's Battersea School in south London last September.
