Pierce Brosnan emotionally opens up about losing two of his friends to coronavirus

Speaking about the virus, the James Bond actor said: "You have to keep pushing the rock uphill, and you have to keep involved in life. We are at war. People are dying."

Pierce Brosnan has spoken about the devastating losses he's suffered as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent interview with Parade, the James Bond star revealed that he's lost two of his friends to the virus.

"They were friends of 45 years, and I am godfather to his son," Brosnan said.

"No matter where you are and how beautiful it may be, you still have this awful threat to life looming."

The 67-year-old actor continued: "You have to keep pushing the rock uphill, and you have to keep involved in life.

"We are at war. People are dying."

Despite the harrowing revelation of the loss of his friends, Brosnan still shared his optimism on what he hopes the world will look like following the pandemic.

"Hopefully after all this, there will be more kindness and more awareness of the fragility of our planet," he said.

Pierce has been isolating on the island of Kauai in Hawaii with his wife of 19 years Keely Shaye Smith.
