Oscars nominations 2020: Rocketman snubbed, Joker lead nods with 11 - see the full list

The 2020 Oscar nominations have been announced, with Joker and 1917 among the biggest successes.

Joker has the most nominations with 11 in total, followed by 1917, The Irishman, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with 10.

They will all go up against each other in the Best Picture category, alongside the likes of Little Women, Ford v Ferrari and Marriage Story.

Elton John biopic Rocketman has been snubbed in the main categories, including Taron Egerton for Best Actor, having triumphed at the Golden Globes last week. The film is nominated for Best Original Song for 'I'm Gonna Love Me Again' by Elton and Bernie Taupin.

Instead, the Best Actor prize will be battled out between Leonardo DiCaprio for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Antonio Banderas for Pain & Glory, Adam Driver for Marriage Story, Jonathan Pryce for The Two Popes and Joaquin Phoenix for Joker.

In the Best Actress category, there are nominations for Renee Zellweger for Judy, Scarlett Johansson for Marriage Story, Cynthia Erivo for Harriet, Saoirse Ronan for Little Women and Charlize Theron for Bombshell.

The 92nd Academy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 9.
