   Vanessa Bauer was born in Berlin, Germany.

   She is a professional ice skater, and partnered professionally with Nolan Seegert. They became the German national junior pairs' champion at the 2013 German Figure Skating Championships.

   She went on to work on board Royal Caribbean's Harmony Of the Seas, and moved to London in late 2017 to join Dancing on Ice.

   Vanessa was previously in a relationship with boyfriend Louis Nathaniel, but confirmed their split shortly before she first took to the ice with Wes in January 2019.

   Soon after, Wes's Love Island girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson made her feelings known, posting on Instagram that she wasn't happy with the timing of the announcement.

   Megan wrote: "Love that you decide to announce your breakup with your boyfriend on the night of your first performance with my boyfriend! You’ve never reached out to me once or invited me to watch you train, it pained you to introduce yourself to me last night you didn’t even look me in the eye."
