Britain's Got Talent got its first ever on stage proposal tonight (May 18), leaving Simon Cowell in tears.

27-year-old singer Jacob Jones decided to get down on one knee in front of his girlfriend Faye Compton and the surprised judging panel this Saturday after his audition.

The Surrey singer had earlier belted out a cover of Joe Cocker's 'You Are So Beautiful' for judges Simon, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams, but then said there was one more thing he wanted to do.

With a shocked Faye looking on with their daughter Nancy also in attendance, Faye is brought onto the stage.

Thankfully, Faye said yes to marrying Jacob, leaving the audience cheering and Simon visibly in tears.

An insider told The Mirror: "It's one of the most emotional moments on the show we've seen for a long time."

They added: "Simon was so chuffed for the pair of them. He was so emotional."

The couple have been together for two years, and are parents to nine-month-old daughter Nancy Rae, who was born in September last year.

Jacob has so far performed in pubs and other local venues in Surrey.
