Ashley Roberts splits from Strictly's Giovanni Pernice after one year together

Ashley Roberts and Giovanni Pernice have split up after a one year relationship together after meeting on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018.

The Pussycat Dolls member and the professional dancer insist they will remain friends after announcing their split on social media.

Giovanni, 29, announced the pair's split, tweeting: "@ImAshleyRoberts and I have made the decision to separate as a couple.

"We remain friends and wish each other well for the future."

Ashley, 38, is yet to comment on the break up and is preparing to go on tour with The Pussycat Dolls.

Despite insisting they have parted on good terms, no pictures of the couple feature on either of their Instagram pages any longer.

The pair grew close in group rehearsals for Strictly Come Dancing, but did not make their romance public until after the series.

Ashley was paired with Pasha Kovalev, while Giovanni was paired with Steps member Faye Tozer.
