Who is Kevin Clifton?

Kevin is an English professional dancer born in Waltham, near Grimsby, Lincolnshire.
He started dancing ballroom and Latin as a child, taught by his parents, former World Champions Keith and Judy Clifton. He competed nationally and internationally as a child initially partnering his sister Joanne.
He was a Youth World Number 1 and four-time British Latin Champion, and won International Open titles in Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Japan, France, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland and Belgium. When he retired from competitive dancing in 2007, he was ranked 7th in the world.
In 2010, he made his musical theatre debut in Dirty Dancing The Musical at the Aldwych Theatre in London’s West End.
In 2013, he joined Strictly Come Dancing as a professional dancer. He finished in 2nd place four years in a row, with celebrity partners Susanna Reid, Frankie Bridge, Kellie Bright and Louise Redknapp.

She joined her brother on Strictly in 2014, winning the Christmas Special in 2015 with Harry Judd and the fourteenth series in 2016 with Ore Oduba. In 2017, she announced that she was leaving the show to focus on her musical theatre career.
She is also an actress and singer, played the title role of Millie Dillmount in the UK tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2017. She has also played the lead role of Alex Owens in the UK tour of Flashdance the Musical.

His first marriage was to a dance partner at 20 years old. He later married professional dancer Clare Craze, but split in 2010 with their divorce being finalised in 2013.
He is currently married to fellow professional dancer Karen Clifton, after meeting in New York while working together. He proposed to her on her birthday while they starred in a touring production of Burn The Floor in 2014.
Kevin and Karen Clifton confirmed they were splitting in March 2018. Despite their upcoming divorce, the pair have remained close friends and even starred in a 44-date tour together. They will also continue to appear alongside each other in this year's Strictly series.

A few weeks after winning the Strictly crown with TV presenter Stacey Dooley, the pair confirmed rumours that they were in a relationship.
Stacey told the Guardian in July 2019: "Kev and I have agreed not to go into too much detail about our private lives because you can’t really indulge that and then ask for privacy.
"What I am happy to say is Kev’s amazing, I’m happy, life happens, I’ve got an amazing career and I’m very lucky."
