Irish band Westlife have announced further dates in the UK to create a mega tour following the release of their new album Spectrum.
The new 15-date tour will be Westlife’s biggest outdoor UK tour to date.
Westlife’s tour will finish at the band’s first-ever Wembley Stadium show on August 22, 2020 and will see the pop music icons reach more fans than ever before.
It will be the band’s first UK-wide outdoor tour in over eight years and follows the record-breaking success of this summer’s ‘Twenty Tour’ which saw Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan perform to over 600,000 fans across 27 cities and 13 countries.
Westlife told Smooth Radio: “We’re looking forward to next summer when we’ll be playing so many fantastic outdoor venues across the UK.
The ‘Stadiums in the Summer’ tour will see us reach more fans than ever before. The shows will be incredible and will include all of our hits and some surprises. We cannot wait to get back out on the road.”
Westlife have had 33 number one albums worldwide and have sold over 55 million records, with five million concert tickets sold around the globe.
Shane, Nicky, Mark and Kian broke the news of their tour exclusively to Smooth Radio at Wembley Stadium ahead of their album release of Spectrum on Friday November 15.
Shane told Smooth Radio: “We’re in the stadium for the first time ever. We’re playing Wembley Stadium, which is pretty incredible. Next year, August 22, Westlife will be live at Wembley for the first time ever.
"So it’s a very special day for us as a band. And for our fans, obviously, it’s going to be pretty special, too.
"This is genuinely going to be the best Westlife concert ever, you know? It’s probably one of the biggest things we could ever do in our career.
"It’s the biggest and most iconic stadium in the UK – one of the most iconic in the world. So to be Westlife, playing at Wembley for the first time for our fans, it will definitely be probably the most memorable night of our career."
