Michael Jackson's music has seen a surprise rise up the UK charts, following the broadcast of the Leaving Neverland documentary.

The two-part, four-hour documentary aired on Channel 4 last week (March 6 and 7), following its US premiere days before.

Despite the film's allegations of child sexual abuse by the late popstar, Michael Jackson’s Number Ones album has risen to as high as number 27 in the iTunes downloads chart.

Some of his songs were also given a boost, with ‘Bad’ climbing to Number 147 and ‘Thriller’ below at Number 172.

Leaving Neverland explores serious allegations made against Jackson by Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who both claim the pop star abused them as children.

Jackson’s estate have dismissed the claims, while a civil suit was thrown out by a judge in 2012.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed last week that a 1991 episode of The Simpsons that featured Jackson would be taken off the air. Producer James L Brooks said pulling ‘Stark Raving Dad’ was “the only choice to make.”
