The resemblance between Taron Egerton and Elton John is rather uncanny.

The teaser trailer for Rocketman came out in November, and we've been waiting in eager anticipation for more goodies to be released ever since.

Now we're in luck, as the latest photos show just how well actor Taron Egerton seems to be channelling Sir Elton John.

The photos show Egerton donning the extravagant wardrobe and glasses that Elton is best known for.

Taron Egerton stars (and sings) as Sir Elton in this origin story of how a talented songwriter became an international superstar.

No stranger to singing on the big screen, Egerton has already covered an Elton classic in the past, when he sang 'I'm Still Standing' for the 2016 animated movie Sing.

The film opens at UK cinemas on May 31, and if the trailer is anything to go by, Rocketman is going to be one to remember.
