The Beatles' Abbey Road album is heading to number one after 50 years

The Beatles are about to soar to the top of the charts once again.
By this Friday (October 4), Abbey Road could take the number one spot, knocking Liam Gallagher's Why Me? Why Not into number two.
The band’s album, featuring the iconic zebra crossing album cover, looks set to return to the top spot 50 years after it was first released.
Originally, the album spent 17 weeks at number one after its release in 1969, 11 of them consecutively.

The album was the result of the Fab Four’s final recording sessions in which all of the band took part before they split.
Released September 26, 1969, Abbey Road was not The Beatles’ final album, as Let It Be followed in 1970, however, it was the last one recorded together as a band.
