George Michael fans came so close to getting Wham! to number one this week, but that pesky Ed Sheeran was in the way once more.
After another few days of Christmas streaming, 'Last Christmas' rose one place to number two, meaning it has equalled its peak position back in 1984.
Sadly, it didn't quite reach the top spot, as Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect' kept hold of the number one position.
This is due to three different versions of the song - including duets with Beyoncé and Andrea Bocelli - being counted as the same track.
With Christmas Day falling inside this week’s chart week, many festive classics dominate the top 40 again, including Mariah Carey’s 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' (4), The Pogues’ 'Fairytale Of New York' (5), Band Aid’s 'Do They Know It’s Christmas' (7), Brenda Lee’s 'Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree' (9) and Shakin’ Stevens’ 'Merry Christmas Everyone' (10).
Elsewhere, there are new peaks for Elton John’s 'Step Into Christmas' (11), Michael Buble’s 'It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas' (13), Chris Rea’s 'Driving Home For Christmas' (14), Andy Williams’ 'It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year' (17), Ariana Grande’s 'Santa Tell Me' (28), Buble’s 'Holly Jolly Christmas' (34), Kylie Minogue’s 'Santa Baby' (38) and Sia’s 'Santa’s Coming For Us' (39).
